The Warren Astronomical Society
The Warren Astronomical Society is a non-profit organization of amateur astronomers serving the Detroit Metro area.
We meet twice monthly for presentations given by WAS members, by other local amateurs, and occasionally by speakers of national prominence:
The Society emphasizes volunteerism and public outreach. In addition to volunteering for events like the
"Astronomy on the Beach" star party at Kensington Metropark, our members are happy to give talks to schools
and other groups young and old. If you'd be interested in having a club member talk to your group (whether
in the classroom or in the field), please
contact us.
The Society communicates online via the WarrenAstro Yahoo! Group. If you want to receive notifications about club and general astronomical events, please join the group.
