The images were captured with:
- Celestron 11" GPS sct equiped with Hyperstar (f1.8 speed optical system)
- Aries chromacor/Skywatcher 6" APO refractor
- TV-85 APO refractor
- Coronado 60mm Halpha solar filter set on the TV-85 APO
- SBIG ST-237 with color filter wheels
- Nikon D-70 digital SLR
- Nikon 35mm film camera then image scanned
- Taurus Tech Dry Camera (35mm film) then image scanned
- Hasselblad 2 1/4" film camera then image scanned
- Refractors mounted piggeyback on the N-11 or on a Vixen SS2k equiped Synta German Mount
- Images processed with Maxim DL, Photoshop 7.0 and CS, Registar and Registax
Most of the images are self explanatory...the image of the
Abell SAC(Saguaro Astronomy Club) galaxy cluster is a VERY deep field
image taken with the Hyperstar and 11". This image is about .6 degree
wide and has at least 16 galaxies present in this .6 degree wide FOV.
It was a ten minute image at f1.8 which is the equivalent of a 100 minute
image at f 6.3 or a 250 minute exposure at f 10.
Images were taken from
my home in Macomb Township, Bill Beers's cabin in Cadillac, the Two Hearted
Star Party in the Upper Penninsula along the shores of Lake Superior, and
THE GAZE in Gladwin.
