IC 1795

IC 1795

This is a nice nebula. I took this with my 6" APO refractor using a home made focal reducer which changed the f7.9 scope into a f 5 scope and covers 2 degrees on the long dimension. This is a full frame image and looks pretty good. Looks like the focal reducer will be fine. This a L RGB and Ha shot total exposure time is 4 hours. The focal reducer was a 3 1/2" doublet that I had to machine a cell and do some calculations to make sure it had the correct chip to optic spacing to minimize curvature and edge artifacts. Luckily I have my own metal lathe and milling machine to make such projects possible.
